They were, and still, are influential for many, even for those who aren't musicians. ♥
Something honorable I'd like to mention for that saying of mine was that Sgt. Pepper and Yellow Submarine (the 1968 animated movie) made me truly love the Beatles (and John Lennon). I was really pulled into the whimsical and psychedelic elements used in both. Yellow Submarine is genuinely my comfort movie, and I don't think anything can change that. I wish to have a collection of it, but I can't find it anywhere on Guam and most items are expensive online.
Who were the Beatles?
The Beatles were based in Liverpool and they were a classic rock, pop, skiffle, and an experimental band that started in 1962 and consists of 4 members. There were John Lennon (main vocalist/guitarist), Paul McCartney (bassist, vocalist), George Harrison (guitarist, sitarist, sometimes main vocals), and Ringo Starr (drummer). They became popular in the USA when they toured there, then became more widely known when they had their tour in Europe and Asia. What caused their disband in 1970 was when their manager, Brian Epstein, had died of a drug overdose in 1967. When they broke up, they have made 12 albums, 229 songs, and 63 singles in total. They went on to do solo projects. On December 8, 1980, Lennon got assasinated. Then on November 29, 2001, Harrison died of lung cancer. The only remaining members that are touring solo and alive are McCartney and Starr.
